The 'To the Strongest!' Blog

With this introduction, I intend to establish the purpose of this blog, what content will be posted, and what my relation to this material is. In short, this is a blog that will track the progress of my '28mm Ancient Macedonian' army I am slowly building for a number of reasons. This period has always fascinated me, especially being named after the man at the center of this period - "Alexander the Great", and after discovering my Dad has a sizable collection of Republican Roman's, I had my excuse to dip my toes in ancient wargaming. Initially, I chose to build the forces of Pyrrhus of Epirus and his epic campaign through Italy, but as I read more into the topic horizons broadened.

Therefore, the initial WIP posts or unit galleries will be of my Epirote army interspersed with posts containing research about the personalities, campaigns, and battles relevant to the project. As this project comes to its conclusion, I will begin work on recreating the campaigns of the 'Wars of the Diadochi' or the Successor Wars which I plan to build both sides for. Once again, this will be heavily interspersed with research as this conflict is highly fascinating to read about.

Ideally, by the conclusion of this blog, I will be both the owner of a large completed collection of Ancient Greeks/Macedonian and well-informed about the politics and history of the post-Alexander period!
